Drew did a great job with his first haircut. When we got there, there was a kid in the chair screaming his head off. Drew took it like a champ and was very patient considering the guy gave him the lollipop before he even started cutting!

Ashburn VFO Open House- Oct. 3, 2010
The Open House was from 12-4 pm. When we got there the line for the fire truck rides was very long so we figured we'd better get in it. Poor Drew kept trying to lie down on the ground in line. It was cutting into his naptime. By the time we got done with the ride he was ready to go home.
They had a pretty good system for loading and unloading. You could either ride in the cab or on the top. We of course chose on the top :)
Drew falling asleep in line with Daddy Classic Jack:) Ears plugged and ready for the siren.
Games!
Jack has discovered preschool games. He's finally got the attention span for them. This one is called Go Fish. It's basically Memory with fish. Each person gets a little colored boat. You have to capture a fish with your pole then look at the back, if the color matches your boat then you get to put it in your boat. The first person to fill their boat wins! There is also a version that deals with the numbers on the bottom so it grows with him :) We have Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, The Grouchy Ladybug and a Days of the Week game. This is his favorite. Wait until he gets Hungry Hippos! :)

Drew 22 months old
This child cracks me up on a daily basis. Just look at these pics, they say it all. He's so expressive and he never stops talking/making noise. When he wakes up in the morning he calls to me through the baby monitor, "Mom, Mommy, Mama, Mom, etc.." then will sit a play in his crib quietly until I come and get him. The other morning I awoke to, "Mommy, Mommy! Garby! Here!! Trash! Mommy!" He was so excited to see the garbage truck out his window. When I go in to get him he immediately tells me what he wants for breakfast. It's usually juice and pancakes or waffles. He and Jack usually wake up at the same time but if for some reason Jack is sleeping in, Drew tries to sneak in and wake him up. He really loves his older brother.
Drew used to sleep with a pacifier and a blanket. He started chewing holes in his "fires" as he calls them and would tell me that they were, "Yuck!" So I went with it and said, "You are right, they are yuck!" Then I threw them in the garbage. He went cold turkey. He cried the first day without them for about an hour and twenty minutes. I just kept going up to remind him that they were "Yuck" now and gone. The next day he cried for about 20 minutes and the day after not at all! They are now gone! He still has his "Greebee" which is what he calls his blanket. He actually has two, one is a bear and the other is a frog and he likes to tell me which is which in the morning when I get him. He likes to take them in the car, and for rides in the stroller and sits with them at the table. If I take them away though he doesn't really fuss so he's not too attached.
When anyone comes home after being out for a while he calls out our name "Mommy home!" and gives us a great big bear hug around the legs. If its Jack, he gets the full on hug since they are at a similar level. It's very cute. Drew is also always asking me for a "Kiss, Hug?" He puckers up and then gives a very tight hug around the neck. Everything is "One more?" Kisses, hugs, stories, snacks you name it he always wants just one more.
He has to carry about 10 things in his hands at once which is fine except that he also goes down the steps this way not holding onto a thing. It's only a matter of time until he falls so I usually try to go down backwards so I can catch him if he does. He loves to run and play outside. He likes slides, swings and anything he can climb. He's a stinker about eating his vegetables these days and has an obsession with chocolate and marshmallows. He's also discovered raisins and it's cute to watch him sit and eat out of his little raisin box. He has entered the age of Wow Wow Wubbzy and requests it when it's time for his show. It's the only one he really wants to watch. He'll tell you all the character's names, "Wubbzy, Widget, Walden, Daisy" and is very proud that he can do so. He's the messiest eater I've ever seen and just seems to like getting dirty in general. He loves puzzles and books and is usually carrying a book around with him. He loves to brush his teeth, take baths, color/draw and play with playdough. I'm enjoying my alone time with him while Jack is at preschool. It won't be long before they are both in school and I have to go back to work so I'm trying to enjoy every minute of being a stay-at-home Mom even though most days I want to pull out my hair from the frustration of it all:) The stink eye! He does this often.

Jack's first soccer game Sept. 25th 2010
Jack is doing well in soccer. Though the first practices yielded a lot of crying, he's definitely progressed and gotten better. He would do really well until someone took the ball from him and then he would cry and quit playing. We worked on it with him at home and now when someone takes away the ball he just goes after it again :) He has one of the hardest kicks on the team we just need to work on accuracy now. He's also very good at dribbling the ball he just never looks up to see where the goal is and usually ends up dribbling out of bounds. As one of the coaches I'm having a blast. All of the kids are great and try really hard. We have one shy one but she's coming out of her shell. I will definitely coach again next year :) Just wish I could coach and take pics at the same time. Nick did a decent job though.
Jack's poor face and legs
Jack and Drew just about gave me a heart attack when they pulled the armoire in our bedroom (TV and all) on top of them. Drew managed to escape with no injury at all. Jack was not so lucky. When I pulled up the fallen armoire I saw his head was stuck under the TV. Adrenaline kicked in and I held up the 300 lb. armmoire with one arm and pulled the TV off with the other. When he got out he seemed to be more freaked out about his hands than his head so I took both boys downstairs and looked them over. As Jack was screaming I asked him, "What is your name?" I wanted to make sure he didn't have a concussion. He immediately stopped crying and looked at me as if I were crazy and said, "Mommy, I'm Jack." Once he was calm it was a lot easier to figure out where he was injured. I determined that his fingers probably weren't broken but was still worrried about the blow he took to his head. I loaded them into the car and headed to the ER. Jack was a real trooper while getting his fingers X-rayed and a CT scan of his head. They had the Disney Channel in the hospital room to both boys were entertained.
Whenever we talk about what happened Drew chimes in with "TV Fall! Crying! Scary!" Yep that about sums it up.

Ben's Birthday Party- Sept. 19th, 2010
Ben is in Jack's playgroup. He turned 4 and Jack and Drew were invited to his birthday party at the Little Gym. They got to take a half and hour class and then have cake and ice cream in the party room.
Jack didn't really understand that you had to be the first one back with the bean bag! :)
